From glorious sunshine to grey and rain. Sad times for the Mini K's as I've told them no to going out into the paddling pool. I've promised them a day of baking and so we have baked some fresh home made goodies. The smell of fresh pizza dough is lush. In between waiting for things to be ready we have played some games and watched Neve's puppet show, crafted from all bits around the house.
The snippets of opportunity to have a quick look at Twitter, keeps me connected to all things PCNs and the pharmacy world. However since I've discovered about the tragic death of one of our patients it makes me wonder if all my work is really worth it. Let's be clear it's not my work that I want to shout about, it's work of the team around me and the role of pharmacists in person-centred care that matters most to me. I want to be an advocate for my profession and for value of a good multidisciplinary team.
Noel and Neve come before everyone and everything else. My mum's popped round today in midst of chaos, board games out, washing half put away, cookies in the oven and two kids running around in just pants. She doesn't blink an eye and tells me "you're so lucky, you have two beautiful bright and kind children". Then tells the kids "you two are so lucky, your mum's really good at cooking and baking. She has made you lots of yummy treats".
That was so lovely to hear. Love my mum.
