Urgh! It's been a horrible day. I hate not finishing jobs. My to-do-list is forever expanding as much as I try not to say 'yes' to everything. I think it's my proactive nature to keep doing things to stay ahead of the game, that gets me to this point. At the moment I'm swimming in emails for meetings to be confirmed and strategic planning and mapping. I can happily say I've read all my emails but I haven't responded to all of them yet.
There are items on the PCN agenda that need prioritising before the 1st July!
1. The Network Agreement - The terms of understanding. Basically governance and maintenance of transparency. Equal responsibility from the surgeries to the community we look after and how we as a group of practices look after each other.
2. Workforce Strategy - not so much how many bums on seats. How are we going to attract and retain our workforce.
Simultaneously there's talk of an accelerator fund (£200k!) that requires a bid to be written.
Digital pilot sites to be ran. Training days to organise. Local enhanced services to address.
Yes, I've been in clinic today. I see patients too. One of the conditions of being a Clinical Director, being a clinician within the PCN.
Over the next 99 days I will try to explain in more depth about what's happening in PCNs, but just enough to understand.
